Current answer
Patch 1.02 repeats the fix; player confirmation after it is still missing.
Patch 1.01 said some affected Deep Layers boxes were fixed. After players reported similar failures, Patch 1.02 said the coin/fuse bug was “double fixed.”
The player reports contradict the practical result of Patch 1.01, not the later 1.02 claim. The thread's newest reply points to 1.02, but nobody in that thread reports a fresh test after installing it.
Root cause
No trigger has been isolated.
The reviewed player thread mentions cobwebs and wonders whether a Spark opened the box, but neither idea is reproduced or confirmed. Treating either as the cause would overstate the evidence.
No reliable recovery sequence was present in the patch notes, thread, or developer FAQ. This page does not promise that changing form, hitting the box, rejoining, or restarting will rescue an already affected run, and it does not label the issue universally resolved without post-1.02 evidence.
Useful next action
Capture a report the developer can reproduce.
- 01
Record expected versus actual behavior
State that the box opened but the coin or fuse had no usable pickup interaction.
- 02
Write the reproduction steps
Include what opened the box, the Deep Layers location or room cues, and what input you tried.
- 03
Identify lobby role
Say whether you were solo, hosting, or joining, as required by the official reporting checklist.
- 04
Attach time and visual proof
Add the approximate time plus a screenshot or short video. Provide logs or a save only when the support team requests them.
- 05
Use the official Discord
Unlock the Bug Report channel through #roles, or use #open-tech-ticket for technical support. Never post credentials or other private information.
